Artist for Hire
-
My early years as an artist were influenced by M.C.Escher and Monet. I was born in OC California and spent many of my summers rolling around in the Laguna Sawdust.

In the 70's I was a sign painter, hand painting ten meter sized billboards and created many hand carved monumental redwood signs
for local businesses. If your looking to get special outdoor advertising displays or art for your business, please feel free to ask me about costs and all the new creative sign materials available.
I'm an active freelance commercial artist and now reside in northern California. I look at each project as a technical structure, this stems from my ten years at McDonnell Douglas Aircraft Company (Boeing), where I worked as a senior technical illustrator, doing diametric & isometric ink renderings for presentations & maintenance manuals.Art Gallery
I use my photography & drawings as reference and in some instances as the base structure on digital work. You can view my art portfolio and purchase any one of the pieces through a secure web service. The 2008-09 series of art is influenced by the digital exposure to the tools I encounter each day in my creative work. This new series of acrylic (or H2O oil) wood panels will be directed towards the art collector that wants weather proof, outdoor decorations. (protected heavy wood panels that can be pinned to an outdoor wall)

NEW! Hand Crafted Art Series
-
Completely recycled redwood panels painted, varnished and hand carved with sea shells & copper inlays for your wall. Copper plated epoxy inlays are mounted into the wood for durability with redwood sticks representing the rails of the sea shell shape. The shoreline is painted onto the panel for an effect of a wet north coast ocean scene. This is the first in a series of many more to come, and all are ready to hang without a frame. It's a great item for your house boat or that special get-away shack. Each is different from the next, with a special ocean scene in the portal. If you would like to see a closeup or an angle shot... click on! This one is photographed in the morning sun and I'll have another view of it in the setting sun, too.
Some marketing advice?
-
Many of us search for ways to save capital as we start up our new enterprise. Here's some working ideas. Lets say you need some logos, icons and general marketing materials. You can search various places on the web for that perfect designer. Depends on how long of a commitment your looking for. Try starting a contest over at Worth1000. You can get lots of design ideas... don't have to use any of them and only have a small teense of cash out.
Craigslist is another option, place your posting under creative gigs. Blurb has some folks that show talent & I've seen quite a lot of fine art work and video over at Kontain. And, there are artists across the pond at crestock and istockphoto that come up with some pretty great stuff, too. (great banner ad art)A bit about my formal education.
Lithography studies at Fullerton College, figure drawing at El Camino College, computer animation certificate courses at UCLA, Associates of Art degree in advertising at
Long Beach College and web programming at Santa Rosa Junior College.
As I do at Kontain, my art is also on display at the european Artistportfolio and VanArte web galleries. Please find some time to visit and enjoy all the super creative flow at both places.
